EU Glass Fiber

The European Commission announced in September 16th that it was importing from China. glass fibre Levying up to 43.6% Anti-dumping duty 。

European Commission The decision was published in the official EU communiqu on the same day. The EU's provisional anti-dumping measures usually take no more than half a year. At the same time, the EU anti-dumping investigation procedures will continue, and the EU Member States will finally decide whether to levy a formal anti-dumping duty for a period of 5 years.

After receiving complaints from the European glass fiber manufacturers association in November last year, the European Commission decided in December last year to launch anti-dumping investigations on fiberglass imported from China. This is opposed by European glass fiber manufacturers. They fear that anti-dumping measures on China's glass fiber will raise their production costs.

Fiberglass is widely used in the manufacture of wind turbine blades, lightweight hull and automotive composites.

EU member states have different attitudes towards this measure. In an internal vote in August this year, 12 of the 27 EU countries voted against it, only 7 supported it and the other eight abstained. In accordance with the European Union Law, abstention votes were deemed to be in favour, so the result was 15 votes in favour and 12 votes against it.

On the same day, the European Commission announced the launching of countervailing investigations following the launch of anti-dumping and safeguard measures against China's wireless wide area network card. This is the first time that the EU has launched three relief measures against Chinese products at the same time.

Yi Xiaozhun, Vice Minister of Commerce, said recently that it is necessary for all countries to jointly safeguard an open, fair and fair multilateral trading system in order to shake off the impact of the global financial crisis and restore growth in the world economy. At present, China has become the main target country of trade protectionism, and China resolutely opposes all kinds of trade protectionism.
