Since the environmental verification work was carried out in 2010, nearly 300 tanning enterprises have submitted applications for verification, covering 22 provinces and autonomous regions.

After examination, more than 150 tannery enterprises have been assessed on site, of which 82 enterprises have passed the declaration.

During this period, tannery enterprises' pollution control was gradually standardized, and the level of cleaner production technology was significantly improved. At the same time, along with the continuous development of environmental protection verification work, we actively guided the merger and reorganization of small enterprises, and promoted the process of enterprises moving to park and concentrating production.

In the initial stage of verification work, enterprises have varying degrees of problems such as imperfect system of chromic wastewater diversion, unstable operation of treatment facilities, dripping and dripping.

Through the verification work, the inspection experts put forward practical and effective rectification opinions for the above problems of chromium containing wastewater, and the enterprises actively rectified.

At present, tannery enterprises can basically achieve a reasonable collection and treatment process of chromium containing wastewater and complete treatment, ensure the effective separation of chromium containing wastewater and comprehensive wastewater and separate treatment to meet the standard discharge.

Before the work was carried out, the tannery industry's terminal treatment technology was mainly aimed at the removal of COD, and it was difficult to meet the standard of ammonia nitrogen in many enterprises on the basis of meeting the requirements of COD stable compliance.
