According to the latest news from the 2015 Design Expo, fashion forecaster Li Edelkoort announces "fashion is dead". She describes the existing fashion industry as "a poor and funny imitation of the past" industry.

Li Edelkoort is one of the most influential fashion forecasters in the world. Her annual speech in Cape Town, South Africa, set off the topic of fashion industry.

She told media Dezeen: as we all know, fashion is dead.

Edelkoort says, because

fashion

Unable to contact the real world and people, they have gradually lost interest in fashion, instead of interest in clothing.

At the end of her speech, Dezeen interviewed her, "fashion is isolated. It's very dangerous."

Edelkoort

Enumerated a series of reasons for the emergence of fashion crisis. From the education accepted by young designers, they have been taught to imitate the works of famous designers and strive for pcendence.

"We have been educating young people to become T designers and become a unique individual," she said. "However, the current society is full of variables, and new economic environment and work teams are emerging in various industries."

Other factors that affect the development of the industry include the lack of textile technology, the dispute over the labor treatment of garment factories, and the binding of advertising budgets between fashion tycoons and magazines and bloggers.

Harmonious relationship

She pointed out that in recent years, the cutting-edge designers who are born with great success will be gradually buried in the near future, and opportunities will no longer exist.

The industry has launched a fashion blogger, which means that the past elite criticism mode has been replaced by a superficial layout. Edelkoort calls it the "arbitrary generation".

"New brands will never appear in magazines because they have no money to buy advertisements."

She said.

"Marketing is one of the perpetrators of the fashion industry's death," she added.

"It makes the fashion full of greed without originality."

In his speech in Cape Town, Edelkoort replaced the second part of the speech vision with a paper called "Anti_Fashion". The reasons for fashion death were listed and expanded.

Her first sentence said, "for me, this is not easy to do, because I love fashion.

I am very miserable to see fashion falling, and I miss my past years.

"

Edelkoort was born in Holland in 1950 and now lives in Paris. She has been forecasting the trend of global fashion companies and brands.

In 2003, it was nominated by time magazine as one of the 25 most influential figures in the fashion industry.

She served as director of Design Academy Eindhoven between 1998 and 2008.
