Upgrading The Development Level Of The Comprehensive Utilization Of Waste Textiles And Promoting The Construction Of Non Waste Cities

Recently, the Seventh International Forum on the development of the comprehensive utilization of waste textiles was held in Nanjing. The forum was co sponsored by the China Circular Economy Association and the Swedish Embassy in China. The Specialized Committee is responsible for the comprehensive utilization of waste textiles. The theme of this forum is "upgrading the development level of the comprehensive utilization of waste textiles and helping the construction of cities without waste", focusing on discussing and communicating the policy mechanism, technological progress, standard construction and business mode of the comprehensive utilization of waste textiles at home and abroad.

Guan Shixuan, Deputy Secretary General of the circular economy Association of China, pointed out at the forum that no waste city has been the development goal of more and more countries and cities. The comprehensive utilization of waste textiles will play a great role in the process of reducing and recycling the cities without waste, and is the only way to ensure the sustainable development of China's industry.

Wu Si, chief counsellor of the Swedish Embassy in China and director of the center for corporate social responsibility, said that the textile industry is one of the most resource consuming and polluting industries in the world, and the textile industry is undergoing the most fundamental transformation. The Swedish government placed sustainable development on the top of the political agenda and created the circular economy committee, aiming at strengthening the transformation of Sweden's efficient utilization of resources, recycling economy and sustainable development. He pointed out that sustainable production alone is not enough. It also needs to change the way of consumption and encourage more sustainable consumption.

Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology professor Zhao Guoliang analyzed the development trend of the comprehensive utilization technology of waste textiles: first, sorting technology will continue to upgrade; two, the second-hand clothing market will be opened in the future; three, the reuse of physical products will be diversified; four, chemical reuse will need to be reduced and quality improved. Five, the regeneration process and product quality testing and evaluation methods will continue to improve.
